"How long does each tarot reading take?"
I make sure everyone gets a reading and try to spend the same amount of time with each person, although demand often varies. I will sometimes shorten spreads to encourage people to come up or prevent a line or lengthen spreads to offer a client deeper insight or just fill time. Small, intimate gatherings allow time for a full Celtic Cross, a ten-card spread that offers in-depth insight. That takes 10-15 minutes per guest. However, at public events or house parties with more than 10 guests, I usually do shorter card spreads that last 5-8 minutes. I use my judgment based on each situation. Sometimes people hang on my every word, and sometimes people seem eager to return to the party. Sometimes I just cannot think of more to say, but guests are welcome to ask a second question and have a second tarot card spread. I don't set a time limit or bring a timer or anything!
"How many people can you read for during a standard two-hour party?"
I can do 10-15 minute readings for 8-9 guests or 6-8 minute readings for 16-17 guests.
If there are 18+ guests, I do 4-5 minute readings, which is time for up to 25 people to have a turn.
If you have 26+ guests, you must book more time if you want every guest to have a tarot reading.
"Do you bring your own setup? What do you bring?"
Yes, I bring a table cloth and decorations, including electric candles and crystals. I also offer a booth that features sound-dampened walls, mood lighting, plus a table and chairs as well as a temperature-controlled pavilion for outdoor events!
"Will the tarot readings be private?"
Usually, everyone gathers around the table to listen and comment, making it an interactive group experience. Some guests prefer a private reading.
"Do you do group readings?"
I do couples readings, but other than that, I only read for individual people and pets, one at a time.
"What is a tarot party like?"
I show up with a duffle bag. You direct me to a comfortable reading area with a table, and I spend about 5 minutes beautifying the space. After that, people volunteer one by one or in pairs to have a reading. Sometimes, a guest or group prefers private readings, but often everyone gathers around the table and watches, making it an interactive group experience. There is usually a lot of laughter, sometimes tears of relief or joy. Most guests take a picture of their tarot spread. I bring an Instaprint camera and photo sleeves so everyone can have a cute memento from the party too. I try to stay until everyone has had a reading!
Readings are 10-15 minutes per person at small, intimate gatherings and 6-8 minutes at parties with more than 10 guests. At crowded events, when there is a line, when booking time is running out, when aguest seems in a hurry to return to the party (or when I simply cannot think of more to say about a spread!), readings may be as short as 4-5 minutes to try to ensure everyone gets a reading. And when there's time, guests can choose: 3-card spread, 5-card spread, or 10-card spread. Some are eager for in-depth insight, and others are impatient to get back to the party.
"Is the tarot real? Is it magic?"
I consider it a useful tool for introspection that helps me examine situations from new perspectives. Others swear by it or even live by it like a religious faith! There are two kinds of people, those who believe in fate and those who don't. If you don't believe, then the tarot is just a card game, a parlor trick. But if you do, then every tarot card you are dealt was meant to be drawn by you at that specific moment in time, a message from the universe just for you.
"Is the tarot negative or demonic?"
The tarot is cardboard!
But seriously, no. Fate determines which cards coincidentally are placed before you. I'm just using my intuition to interpret the cards in addition to their traditional meaning and in line with what I sense about each guest.
"Is the tarot scary? What if I get bad news? Should I be worried?"
I don't give bad news. I may warn of a coming change or challenge, but no one walks out feeling like something bad is going to happen. That's not the vibe. It's a party! We're here to be happy and positive. There is no reason to be afraid. My readings are honest but positive and reassuring. Tarot is about introspection--ensuring your present choices and mindset align with your future goals. The cards tell a story about each guest--their past, their present, and their future is only a small part of that. My tarot readings are more validating than prophetic. Tarot gives us credit for our achievements while asking us to reflect upon our feelings, choices, and relationships. They tell the kind of future our past and present choices are leading us towards, so that we can prepare or change course.
"Do you travel? Will you come to my Airbnb, private residence, business venue, etc?"
I'll travel anywhere within the South Carolina Lowcountry and to Savannah, GA, and yes, I'll come to any address.
